An Improved Way to Wrap: Stretch vs. Standard Pallet Netting
Choosing between high-stretch (A-stretch) and non-high stretch (standard) pallet netting depends on your load type and wrapping volume. Both are effective, breathable alternatives to traditional plastic film, widely used across Australia
A-Stretch (High-Stretch) Pallet Netting
This netting is engineered with high elastic recovery, meaning it stretches significantly (up to 100% or more) and then contracts to pull the load tighter. This "cinching" action provides superior stability for challenging goods.
Best Used for irregular or unstable loads that shift during transport, or those requiring extreme hold
Ideal Industries:
o Horticulture & Fresh Produce: Securing items like fruits, vegetables, and plants that require maximum airflow but also a dynamic, tight grip as they settle.
o Rolled Turf/Sod: The high stretch grips the heavy, cylindrical shape securely to prevent unrolling or shifting.
o Cold Storage/Freezing: The elasticity maintains tension during temperature changes (expansion/contraction) and allows rapid airflow for faster freezing or cooling.
o High-Volume Warehousing: Often used in machine pallet wrappers to maximize material yield and reduce plastic waste.
Non-High-Stretch (Standard) Pallet Netting
Standard netting provides a basic, strong mesh for securing uniform loads. It offers good ventilation but minimal elastic recovery after the initial application tension. It is often applied manually.
Best used for uniform, stable loads where breathability is key, but the "elastic memory" of A-stretch isn't necessary.
Ideal Industries:
o Building Materials: Securing rigid items like bricks, blocks, or tiles where the load shape doesn't change.
o Firewood & Logs: Provides containment and excellent airflow for drying without needing an aggressive stretch.
o Manual/Low-Volume Operations: Easier to apply by hand for seasonal businesses or smaller farm’s that do not use automated wrapping equipment
