The right tape delivers a cleaner, faster and more cost-effective embroidery process

As the business at Ace Corporate Apparel has grown, owner Rowan Gerecke has expanded into the embroidery of automotive accessories, including customised car mats.

Embroidering car mats presents a particular challenge: the mats need to be held firmly and precisely in place throughout the embroidery process. Any movement can affect the quality of the finished product, so finding a tape with the right adhesive strength was critical.

The Challenge

Rowan initially used a specialist double-sided tape to secure the mats during embroidery. While expensive, it still didn’t perform as well as he needed.

“The tape we were using was eye-wateringly expensive, and even at that price it still wasn’t quite right for the application,” Rowan says.

The challenge was finding a tape strong enough to prevent the mats from slipping during embroidery, while also being easy to remove afterwards without leaving adhesive residue behind.

After shopping around and trialling alternatives, Rowan discovered Venhart No. 63 Double-Sided Tape.

“Once we’ve finished embroidering, the tape peels away cleanly within seconds. We get the strong hold we need during production without creating another job for the team afterwards.”
