Protecting various shaped goods 

• Shrink wrap contours to the shape of your product offering superior protection as goods are tightly packed 
• You can use the same size pallet shrink bags for pallets and products of different shapes and sizes as the shrink wrap will mould to your product when heat is applied 

Protection of heavy loads 

• With standard stretch film pallet wrapping, pallets are only guaranteed stability horizontally as the stretch film is wrapped around the pallet
• However with shrink wrapping, pallets are also stabilised vertically as the pallet shrink bags enable you to press down on the load which is beneficial for heavy loads as it adds an extra layer of stability

Easy identification 

• As goods are tightly packed in a transparent plastic wrap, goods are easily identifiable and labels are easily legible 

Protects against the elements

• Shrink wrapping is able to protect your pallets from all five sides, offering superior protection against the elements such as rain
• The pallet shrink bag’s seal on the top of the pallet is impermeable and shrink wrapping ensures a water-tight wrap around goods

Helps protect against theft 

• Shrink wrap offers both strength and transparency, helping protect goods against theft
• During transportation of goods, risk of theft is significant and for the end customer, detecting theft on receipt of the goods is often a major challenge
• Theft is made easier when goods are wrapped in standard stretch film as thieves can easily cut into the stretch wrap, remove products and rewrap the pallet with more stretch film 
• However with a shrink wrapped pallet, theft becomes a harder task as it’s more noticeable and thieves must shrink wrap the whole pallet again, discouraging theft of goods

Ripack Heat Shrink Guns 

At Venus Packaging we offer a few different options of Ripack Heat Shrink Guns. All Ripack Heat Shrink Guns were designed with the safety of the operator in mind. All heat shrink guns feature ‘cold nozzle’ technology to protect the operator from risk of burns. The stainless steel heat diffuser will stay cold even over prolonged periods of use. Further, the Securipack regulator constantly monitors the pressure in the gas cylinder and device, and will automatically shut off the gas if any faults are detected. 

Our range of Ripack Heat Shrink Guns include the 2100, 2500 and 3000 models. The 2100 model is the entry-level version as it’s designed for low-level use. The 2500 model is ideal for more regular shrink wrapping. It’s the lightest out of all the heat shrink guns and with adjustable power, it will adjust to the thickness of your films. The 3000 model is ideal for heavy use as it’s the fastest and most powerful shrink gun currently on the market. It is also available to purchase with extensions to increase the reach of the heat shrink gun to suit your project requirements.

How to wrap a pallet with a Ripack Heat Gun and shrink wrap 

• Simply place your pallet shrink bag over the pallet of goods
• Make sure to slide the bag well under the pallet
• Hold the nose of the diffuser about 30 cm away from the pallet as you heat up the shrink wrapping 
• Sweep sideways with the heat shrink gun from the bottom and finish at the top of the pallet
