Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right temperature or application conditions for hot melt adhesive?
The correct temperature (also known as Open Time) in which the glue melts depends on the type of Venus Hot Melt Glue you’re using and the materials being bonded. For example, our Fast Packaging Glue has an open time of approximately 15 seconds, meaning they take less time to melt whereas our General Purpose Glues has an average open time of 30-40 seconds.
Can hot melt glue be used in food packaging, and is it food-safe?
Venus Hot Melt Glues can be used in food packaging as they’re not solvent based and they’re friendly to the environment. They will not taint foods or other packaged items and there is no glue odours when set.
What advantages does hot melt glue offer compared to tape or other adhesives?
Venus Hot Melt Glue sets quickly, creates a strong, durable bond, and can fill gaps between surfaces that tapes or liquid adhesives may struggle with. It’s cost-effective for high-volume applications and allows for precise application with minimal mess.
Are there temperature or environmental limitations I should consider when using hot melt adhesives?
Venus Hot Melt Glues perform best within their recommended temperature ranges. Extreme heat can cause softening or stringing, while very cold conditions may reduce adhesion strength. Ensuring proper storage and application conditions will maintain consistent performance.
