Frequently Asked Questions
What is a twist tie vs. a cable tie?
A twist tie is a flexible wire (often covered in either Paper or Nylon) used for bundling or sealing bags, whereas a cable tie (also called zip tie) is typically a one-way locking strip used to bind cables or objects firmly.
Can I reuse these ties?
It depends on the specific tie type as many twist ties are reusable (you can retwist them), but most loop ties and cable ties are single use only, as once they’ve been sealed/tied, there is no way to undo that process.
What strength or size should I choose for my application?
Choose a tie based on the load or thickness of items being bound. The Venus tie range offers different widths, tensile strengths, and materials to match light, medium or heavy usage.
What’s the difference between loop ties and twist ties?
Wire Loop Ties are most frequently used for the secure binding of bags weighing up to 100kg whereas twist ties, both Paper and Vinyl, are used for bundling or sealing bags up to 40kg. The loops ties, when applied correctly with a loop tyer, offer a more secure bind.
